This year's must-have pants
Hello. This is Miura from THIRD PLACE.
Have you had a chance to check out our special collaboration project with ISSUETHINGS?
Following Nishiwaki and Kubono, I, Miura, would like to share a few words as well.

The pants we've been talking about every day are, without exaggeration, the most anticipated item we've worked on this year, an item we poured our efforts into for months in preparation.
Now that the day to unveil them to you all is approaching, I'm filled with excitement and anticipation.
For the background and details of this special order, please refer to Nishiwaki's blog, and for the appeal and styling of these pants from a men's perspective, check out Kubono's blog from yesterday.
From my side, I'd like to talk about the appeal of ISSUETHINGS as a brand and some points about these pants from a women's perspective.
This season, THIRD PLACE has focused on selecting pants other than denim.
Since its opening, THIRD PLACE has largely proposed items centered around our beloved denim, and I feel that this image has become quite established in our second year.
The HERILL denim we've been promoting throughout the past year, and the WELCOME-RAIN denim that was just restocked and is still fresh in our minds.
These have played a very significant role in helping people get to know us.
Many of our customers also love denim. Since they all resonate with our style, it's gratifying that we can communicate without much explanation, almost as if saying, "Right! This is it!"
I'm so happy that we've built such relationships with so many people, and with the desire to create a new pair of pants that fashion lovers like you will enjoy, we undertook this project.
Even among the staff, during the 26AW sourcing stage, "I want to wear slacks this year" was a common sentiment among all three of us.
Although our individual styles differ, we usually resonate with similar points for some reason.
They say that when you're always together, your thinking becomes similar, and since we often wear matching clothes anyway, it might be inevitable. (laughs)
We haven't really offered wool slacks at THIRD PLACE before, and we realized that our customers might be struggling to find winter pants just like us.
So, we really want those people to try these on. We've created something we're truly confident in.

By the way, my first encounter with ISSUETHINGS was after coming to THIRD PLACE.
I had followed the brand, but I touched their products in store at the start of the 26SS season without knowing the full picture.
Given that it's created by a male designer and based on vintage clothing, I initially had a strong prejudice that it might be very masculine and rugged clothing.
However, when I actually tried it on, I felt a sense of incongruity. In a good way, of course.
I met designer Watanabe around that same time, about six months ago, and my first impression was that he was a very stylish man with a gentle aura.
However, when it comes to craftsmanship, he is extremely stoic, almost obsessive in his pursuit of perfection. The more I learned about him, the more respect and empathy I felt.
Since we share many mutual acquaintances, I somehow felt a natural connection from the beginning, and knowing Watanabe-san's personality makes me appreciate ISSUETHINGS' clothing even more.

I rarely wear vintage clothing myself, but I'm interested in the roots of vintage and the historical background of clothes. Through ISSUETHINGS' clothing, I've been able to learn about these things and feel the joy of wearing good old designs in a modern, personal way.
Designer Watanabe and I are also the same age, so perhaps the cultures and fashion we experienced are similar, making it a good fit for me.
I'm already a fan of ISSUETHINGS.

Now, back to the pants.
ISSUETHINGS items are fundamentally designed using vintage clothing as a source, with various hand-applied "issues" by artisans.
Military essence, grunge, street. Classic yet somehow modern.
The calculated oversized silhouettes felt very natural, with a mysterious balance that felt familiar to my body. There were also many visually interesting clothes with intricate materials and unique processing.
And what I discovered after actually touching the collection was that the materials were used more softly than I imagined, the colors were gentle, and there were many clothes with silhouettes that suited women.

These pants also have a simple design that makes the most of the fabric's quality, but what's distinctive are the cut-off sections in various places.
As you can see by looking at the waist and pockets, the interlining and pocket lining fabrics peek out from the cut-off areas, exposing the inner structure of the pants.
I really like the rough, worn-out feel, as if they've been worn for many years, and this unfinished look.
The wool fabric used is quite elegant and fine, so when tailored into slacks, this relaxed feel is just right for us.

Tailored jackets, shell jackets, knitwear, fleece, sweatshirts.
This is pretty much my consistent wardrobe every year, so I needed pants that would go with any of these coordinates.
I immediately tried matching them with various clothes I have at home, and they really do match. Buying both colors was the right decision.

Even when I imagine the styles I want to pursue this year, such as the supreme extreme cashmere knits I wear in winter, the functional fleece from and wander, or the colorful and vibrant items from RUS that will soon arrive at the store, they still match perfectly.
We also designed these with our shared wardrobes in mind, such as JERSEEZ sweatshirts, MEAIS knitwear, and ANOTHER ASPECT shirts, so if your closet is similar to ours, I'm sure you'll love these pants.
