A coat even I can wear
Hello. This is Kubono from THIRD PLACE.
Following Miura yesterday, I would like to talk about the recently announced YOKE for THIRD PLACE exclusive coat today.
YOKE is a brand that Miura and Nishiwaki worked with for a long time at our previous store, so we have a deep relationship with them, and from my perspective, they feel like family.
Although I personally had no direct involvement, I had several opportunities to get involved on a spot basis, such as helping out with YOKE pop-ups at our previous store and accompanying them for photoshoots of exclusive items. However, this is the first time we are actually carrying it in our store since coming to THIRD PLACE.
I have checked out YOKE's clothes before, but I never had the opportunity to know the brand as a whole. After coming to THIRD PLACE and seeing the exhibition for the first time, I feel once again that I really like YOKE's clothes.
The reason is very simple: they are fresh yet easy to incorporate into everyday life.

The coat made this time is simple yet has distinct characteristics, and it has a balance that fits into everyday life.
First, the shape.
This exclusive coat is not a long coat exceeding 100cm, but a mid-length coat with a length of 81cm for size 2 and 83cm for size 3, making it an easy length to incorporate into everyday life.

I haven't worn a coat in the past few years.
This is partly because I prefer casual styles, but the biggest reason is that they are difficult to move in.
As I have mentioned several times on my blog, I often choose short outerwear because I commute by bicycle. Also, because of my lazy personality, even on my days off, I end up wearing only things that are easy to move in.
I actually have a coat over 100cm, but I rarely have the chance to wear it.
However, as I get older, the opportunities to attend weddings and parties increase, and my desire for a coat has also grown.
That said, what I want now is not a long coat.
Something that has a coat-like atmosphere while also being something I can use casually without hesitation. That is this coat.
It doesn't have as formal an impression as a long coat, and it has a nice relaxed feel. Since the length covers the buttocks and reaches about halfway down the thighs, it doesn't get in the way around the knees.
It can handle formal occasions and naturally blends into my usual casual style. I feel that this balance is just right for me now.

If that were all, you might think, "Aren't there others if I look?" But I really like the details.
The design on the back of the collar and sleeves. It is a part that cannot be seen unless you turn it up or stand up the collar, but because of these details, the expression changes depending on how you wear it.
It looks simple at first glance, but it has distinct characteristics. And how much of those characteristics to show is up to the person wearing it. I am attracted to the fact that it leaves that choice.
Actually, the part where I was allowed to add a little bit of my opinion to the design model was the neckline. I had the chin strap made a little smaller and the neck opening widened by a few centimeters.
In the original design, I was concerned that the square shape of the chin strap would stand out a little when closing the neck. Also, because the thick fabric creates a three-dimensional feel on the sleeves, I wanted to make the neckline a balance that is not too tight and does not feel cramped.
When it was finished, I was very happy, and it was exactly the ideal shape.
I think the neckline became a nice relaxed feel without being too stiff.

As I tell you on my blog almost every time, my theme for this year is layering.(1,2,3)
Shirts, knits, pullovers, and accessories. Because autumn and winter tend to become monotonous, I want to add depth by combining various items.
While men's wear seems to have formats from history and tradition, looking at women's styling and items, I admire the wide freedom of fashion.
So if I were to wear it, I decided on layering. I don't match it with smooth textures or moving fabrics. I don't match it with beautiful leather shoes either. I match it with expressive fabrics and easy-to-wear Vibram soles.
I don't want to try hard to dress, and I don't want to put stress on myself in daily life.
This coat is based on a rugged impression of a car coat and uses a high-quality wool cashmere fabric in charcoal that blends well with colored items.
If it were a car coat made entirely of leather, I don't think I would have chosen it. It requires careful handling, and it is strong.
The original, details, materials, sizing.
As I mentioned in the beginning, it can handle formal occasions and naturally blends into my usual casual style.
I like this coat because it has the reliability and trust that it tightens me up so I can just throw it on over my usual clothes. This mid-length coat, which is surprisingly rare even if you think about various elements, is what I am looking for.
Because it is a select shop, I want to enjoy combining it with various brands in my own way.
Finally, YOKE, which we select at THIRD PLACE, is centered on basic items that anyone can easily incorporate into their daily life.
It is not flashy, but each one is a real item rooted in daily life that can feel YOKE-like and THIRD PLACE-like.
This mid-length coat is also a friendly one that can be worn without hesitation as everyday wear.
As everyday wear, and also for slightly special occasions such as weddings. It gently fits into the scene and lifestyle of the time. I think it became a reassuring, YOKE and THIRD PLACE-like exclusive coat.
Since November 3 (Tuesday) is a valuable opportunity where designer Mr. Terada will also visit, please come to the store with this coat as a catalyst!
Now, I will pass it over to anchor Nishiwaki.
