We developed the "sweatshirt" that we wear the most from scratch with JERZEES.
The hoodie from RUSSELL ATHLETIC, established in Alexander City, Alabama, USA in 1902, has been reproduced with a modern interpretation.
Its unique features include an asymmetrical hood cord that can be exposed or hidden, and a design that resists losing its shape even after repeated wear. The cords, originally made for athletic use, are thick like shoelaces and have a strong presence. While the body maintains a modern balance, we intentionally kept the neckline detail classic by using a flat cord to retain a vintage feel. Another concern with hoodies is the volume of the hood. Personally, I don't like it when it lies flat when worn, so I paid close attention to ensuring it has good volume.
The fabric uses open-end yarn, widely used in the US. Because the yarn contains air, it creates a voluminous texture and a dry, crisp feel, resulting in an exquisite texture, color, and touch. While boasting a substantial 13.2 oz weight and robust shape retention, with repeated wear and washing, the fabric will conform to your body, and the comfort will change, revealing a unique "flavor" over time.
As it's washed, it gets better. It has higher absorbency than typical sweatshirts, and despite being 100% cotton, it's quick-drying. Even in seasons when drying clothes can be difficult, it dries well indoors, so you can wear it frequently.
Also, since I personally like to use it extensively during the autumn, winter, and spring seasons, I requested a brushed fleece lining. The brushed fleece has high absorbency, which is essential for absorbing large amounts of sweat, thus thoroughly grounding its design in historical context.
Size S is based on a 155cm female body type, with a comfortable balance for petite men up to 160cm. Size M was created to be the ideal balance for my 168cm body when worn alone. And size L has a width and sleeve length that can be comfortably worn by those 175cm and taller.
The cords (drawstrings), historically adopted for athletic use, were custom-made in original colors and THIRD PLACE specifications.Customers who purchase a sweatshirt will receive it tied with a THIRD PLACE cord.
