Hello. This is Nishiwaki from THIRD PLACE.

Only two more days until the unveiling of our exclusive coat.

Miura and Kubono have introduced it from their respective perspectives, but now I will introduce it myself.

The reason we made this coat in the first place is that it is a model I actually use and love.

Actually, it all started two years ago when I had this coat custom-made.

That was the turning point for me to start wearing coats again after having stayed away from them.

However, the details of the exclusive we prepared this time are, of course, different from two years ago.

The base is the same, but the purpose at that time, the content we wanted to propose, the style, and the place—everything is different.

But this coat was also necessary to propose the current style of THIRD PLACE.

Customers who visit THIRD PLACE have also been asking us more often, "Do you have any good coats that aren't long?" and we have been leaving them waiting without being able to give them an answer.

Whenever I am buying items, I always think that even if there are long coat options, there are still very few mid-length options...(There are plenty of blousons.)

So I wanted to prepare the one I liked best! and consulted Miura and Kubono.

Then they both agreed, and we also consulted the YOKE team, and we were able to make it happen by connecting it to what we are doing now and what YOKE does.

So this item number is a very important item for expressing your style, just like the HERILL exclusive denim, JERZEES exclusive sweatshirt, WELCOME-RAIN exclusive denim, and ISSUETHINGS exclusive slacks.

There may be some overlapping parts with the previous blog posts, but I will tell you the details of the coat.

The theme of this exclusive is the "light, warm, and long-lasting everyday mid-length coat" that we seek.

First, the design is based on the leather cut-off car coat that is originally in YOKE's inline. Now it has become one of the iconic items of YOKE, but I also like this style.

However, it was difficult to incorporate leather into my own style, and I consulted Terada at that time, saying, "If only there were a wool version of this!"

Then I still remember him saying, "That sounds like you, Nishiwaki, and the item sounds really good too! I want to add it to the inline!"

The design of this car coat was the mid-length balance I idealized the most, so I was really happy when it was decided that we could make it in this style.

And the fabric we chose for this exclusive is wool-cashmere Melton.

As the choice of fabric determines everything about a coat, I am always careful, but this time I had no hesitation.

This is because the wool-cashmere Melton used in YOKE's 26AW inline was the ideal fabric.

That is why, because the edges of the fabric are carefully finished, it looks clean, and the fabric is utilized to its fullest.

Also, because there is no lining, the beauty of river construction is that it feels light while still providing a solid sense of warmth.

Through the choice of fabric and construction, we were able to back up what we had aimed for and bring the YOKE team to this point.

And because it is a river construction, we removed the original cut-off design.

As a result, it links to this season's YOKE collection, where you can feel the classic and elegant atmosphere, and I think we were able to give this coat a universality that makes it easy to wear long-term while allowing you to feel the YOKE atmosphere within this season's sophisticated design.

And this is where the appeal of this coat begins.

 

 

We used leather on the back of the collar and sleeves.

When the designer Terada and I wear coats, we like to pop the collar.

So we both wanted to be particular about how it looks when the collar is popped, and making the entire back of the collar and chin strap leather was the right decision.

Since my arms are not long, the coat sleeves are often too long, and I often wear them folded back, so from that experience, I thought that if I was going to fold them back anyway, it would be better if it looked cool when visible, so I used leather here too.

The compatibility between wool-cashmere and leather is extremely good, and I really like the accent that appears when you fold it back.

 

And let me talk about the details.

I really love outerwear with a length of 80-95cm.

To put it simply, I like a length where you can safely ride a bicycle.

For this exclusive coat, my personal size is 168cm, which is size 2, but it is set at 81cm.

It was adjusted to have a balance that looks good overall when worn on my body type and is actually easy to use in my daily life.

 Size3 was designed to create the best atmosphere when worn by someone175cm or taller.

And we were also particular about the color choice.

We wanted it to match the clothes we are currently proposing at THIRD PLACE, and all the clothes that we and everyone else have.

It is greedy, but it is because we hate not being able to match it.

The color may look black in the photo, but it is almost black charcoal.

Since we always propose styling in the store, we have reflected the field perspective of "this is definitely the one!"

Since the three of us enjoy various styles, we chose it so that it fits well with both casual and elegant atmospheres. You can probably tell from the Miura and Kubono styles we have already introduced.

In January this year, I interviewed Terada, and as I wrote in this blog, it is an exclusive content where you can feel the "future YOKE" that Terada is aiming for, and that is why we also insisted on making this coat in Japan.
