Denim you'll want to wear even in summer.
Hello, this is Miura from THIRD PLACE.
This is my first blog post, and I am the women's staff member at THIRD PLACE.
You might have seen me occasionally on Instagram since the store opened last year, or perhaps met me in person.
Since this is my first appearance on this blog, I'll briefly introduce myself. I've known Nishiwaki since before THIRD PLACE existed, and we've worked together in the apparel industry for a long time.
We've always had similar tastes in style and a similar approach to clothing, so there's a lot of resonance in our fashion sensibilities, and we continue to make various proposals together through THIRD PLACE.
I personally love menswear-inspired items and casual styles, so I think there are many things I can introduce that appeal to both men and women.
If you have similar styles or hobbies, I'd be happy to chat more, and for our female customers, please feel free to consult me about clothing anytime.
I expect to appear regularly on this blog from now on, so I look forward to your continued support.
Now, getting to the main topic, following Nishiwaki, I also want to talk about denim today.

WELCOME-RAIN for THIRD PLACE
"5Pocket Denim"
Col: IVORY / INDIGO / BLACK
Size: 1 / 2 / 3
¥26,000+TAX
The familiar WELCOME RAIN 5 Pocket Denim has been re-released at THIRD PLACE.
As Nishiwaki mentioned, we received many inquiries and requests for restock even after the previous stock of the continuous ONE WASH and IVORY colors sold out. We have been preparing to respond to all those voices.
This is a highly anticipated restock that many customers have been waiting for, and with the addition of a new BLACK color, the lineup is now even more impressive.
This item has been loved by so many people since its first release last year. Every time I see customers wearing them at the store with high frequency, I reaffirm the appeal of these jeans.

I've been wearing IVORY for a long time, and it's been a staple for me this SS season.
All the members at THIRD PLACE routinely wear these jeans as their primary pair, so while our stylings often overlap, our preferred ways of combining and balancing them differ, and all three of us wear them in completely different ways.
You'll realize the versatility of these jeans by looking at our everyday outfits.

I usually wear loose wide-leg pants like these, but my personal preference lately is to pair them with a compact top.
The extreme cashmere T-shirts that we're heavily promoting this season are exactly that; I've started wearing more tops that are shorter in length and have a just-right fit in the shoulders and body.
For example, with SATISFY T-shirts, where I used to wear a relaxed M size, this season I'm enjoying the change by choosing a perfectly fitted S size from the same series.

These WELCOME RAIN jeans feature a loose silhouette with one pleat at the waist, which tends to give volume to the lower body.
Since I'm not particularly tall at 155cm, I pay a lot of attention to sizing and the balance between top and bottom.
Making the top compact helps to improve my style, and it's also recommended for enjoying the trendy Y2K mood of this year.

However, of course, I also like loose tops, so I also wear boyish styles that are loose overall, and I enjoy different balances depending on my mood.
In the summer, I'll probably be wearing simple outfits with shirts, T-shirts, and polo shirts more often.
These jeans will appear frequently in my styling, so I hope you find them helpful.

By the way, I wear size 1.
These were originally made with unisex in mind, so even the smallest size can be worn by men. While a waist of 83cm might seem a bit large for women, I can wear them without issue by cinching them with a belt.
Many female customers choose size 1, but if you are around 165cm tall, you might consider sizing up to size 2 for a more relaxed fit around the hips and a nicer drape at the hem.
The size specifications are as follows, so please compare them to your usual pants.
【Size1】Waist-83 Rise-31.5 Inseam-67 Hem Width-21 (cm)
【Size2】Waist-88 Rise-33 Inseam-69 Hem Width-22.5 (cm)
【Size3】Waist-92 Rise-34.5 Inseam-71.5 Hem Width-23 (cm)

And this time, I bought the new BLACK color as an addition.
My habit of buying favorite items in different colors hasn't changed; it's reassuring to have a few pieces of frequently worn items.
I had the opportunity to purchase and wear them before everyone else, and the mood is different from IVORY, which has further expanded my styling options.

Actually, I only started wearing black denim about a year ago. (I had bought them before, but I genuinely don't remember wearing them for long.)
As someone who was always a blue denim fan, I originally didn't pay much attention to black denim, or perhaps I subconsciously avoided it because it always struck me as too masculine. However, after encountering the ideal black denim from a certain brand, I quickly became hooked and started collecting various types.

What I liked about this black denim is its color.
It uses a fabric where the warp threads are black and the weft threads are white, giving it a slightly whitish, subtle surface texture, so the black doesn't appear too strong.
My concern about it being "too masculine," which I mentioned earlier, largely depends on the fabric used. Fabrics with a textured feel, like this denim, give a more casual and soft impression, making them a great match for my style.

Lately, I've been into all-black summer outfits and trying various styles with these jeans, and I'm finding them to be surprisingly versatile.
Black outfits can often feel heavy, but due to the material's characteristics, they can be incorporated with a light feel, so personally, I feel like I can enjoy black even in summer with these.
Of course, there's no color that doesn't go with them, so you can endlessly enjoy pairing them with colored or patterned items as a staple. Despite being denim, they don't look too casual and can be dressed up for a sophisticated adult look.
Even if you, like me, usually shy away from black denim, I encourage you to try these now.

I've been wearing WELCOME RAIN denim for over half a year now, and the more I wear them, the more I appreciate their quality.
So, what makes them so good?
It's hard to convey just through photos and words, but simply put, the comfort is truly amazing.
As I mentioned earlier, the reason we added this denim at this timing was to quickly deliver it to those who were waiting. Another reason is that we wanted them to be able to spend the upcoming hot summer comfortably.

Generally, denim is characterized by its rugged, thick toughness unique to workwear, so I always thought its only drawback was that it wasn't particularly breathable, even with lighter ounces. Indeed, I often hear people say they don't want to wear denim in the summer.
Even as denim lovers, we sometimes feel the same way, so for many years we searched for denim that could be comfortably worn in the middle of summer.
Over the past few years, we've seen various denim from around the world, and it feels like new, unique products suited to the current era are continually emerging. The HERILL and COLBO linen denim that Nishiwaki recently introduced are examples of this. For us, who center around denim, it's very pleasing to see more easy-to-wear options like these.
This WELCOME RAIN denim is also similar in feel; despite being cotton denim, its soft texture, like sweatpants, is appealing, and the fact that it can be worn stress-free even in midsummer is a key factor in its widespread support.
We chose a loose silhouette because we wanted to wear them as relaxed as possible, but I believe they turned out to be a pair that handles summer well, even without being a light material like linen denim.

Furthermore, a strong point of these jeans is that they can be worn all year round. While summer-specific clothes often don't pair well with autumn/winter items, their significant presence, which can hold its own against sweaters and coats in winter, is a major advantage.
Nishiwaki and Kubono have been wearing these longer than I have, so listening to their stories will likely be even more compelling.
When you visit the store, please feel free to ask them anything.
For those who have been curious about them, I highly recommend making your debut with them now. For those who already own a pair, I suggest buying them in a different color or size. (There are no plans for additional stock for a while, so please act fast.)
Also, the price is set very reasonably at around 20,000 yen in this day and age, so I can even encourage completing the set of all three colors.
Currently, they are being sold in-store first, but as soon as stock remains, they will be listed on the online store starting tomorrow at 8 PM.
Those living far away, please wait a little and use the online store.
I'm looking forward to delivering these to many of you again.
