COLBO from THIRD PLACE -Part Two-

In my previous blog post, I discussed why we decided to carry COLBO and what kind of brand it is.

Today, in the second part, I will write about the characteristics of COLBO's clothing and the items we actually selected.

 

 

Before I start explaining COLBO's clothing, I want to highlight some key points.

 

 

The most important point is that the collection is made up of an earth-tone color palette.

It primarily features natural colors like cream, brown, and khaki. While there are dark charcoal and gray tones, there are generally no black garments.

 

The sizing is also bold, with oversized silhouettes, and everything is unisex.

The fabrics used are high-quality, distinctive materials, deadstock, and original materials sourced from around the world, manufactured in places like New York City's Garment District and Italy.

 

Many Japanese brands I've introduced offered classic, long-lasting items, but COLBO is a collection brand, so its offerings change every season. This means you can enjoy a unique, once-in-a-lifetime encounter with items produced only for that season.

(While some items are standard, the fabrics are often updated, so completely identical items are rare.)

And while Japanese brands often deliver and release products in several batches, COLBO delivers everything at once, so you can see and choose all items on the very first day of the launch.

This might be common for stores that primarily carry collection brands, but since I haven't experienced it much before, it feels incredibly fresh, and the excitement when the items arrive is truly the best.

 

 

 

This is my favorite item from the 26SS season collection.

 

 

 

 

These are the new cropped farm pants, making their debut this season.

They come in two colors: a brand-like brown and a refreshing blue. The unique feature is that the fabric and production differ for each color.

 

 

 

 

The brown version is Italian linen, made in America.

It looks so substantial that you wouldn't think it's linen, yet because it is linen, the fabric is incredibly light.

It feels as soft as sweatpants, making it very comfortable to wear.

And I was particularly drawn to the sophisticated feel of the reddish-brown, which you don't often see, avoiding any hint of rusticity.

 

 

 

 

The blue version is Italian cotton, produced in Europe.

Since this is cotton, it has more stiffness compared to linen.

However, it's not heavy, so you can wear it lightly as well.

Above all, the refreshing blue color is truly wonderful, isn't it?

 

 

 

 

COLBO is meticulously particular about selecting fabrics and countries of production to achieve the desired color expression, even for the same style.

These pants are drawstring easy pants with a wide straight silhouette.

They're a new model introduced this season, and for my casual style, easy pants are the most versatile, so this model has been long-awaited.

 

 

 

What I liked about these pants was the sizing.

Here's how they look on me, at 168cm, wearing size S.

I think sizing is the biggest concern with imported brands, but the length of this model is suitable for Japanese body types, so there's no need to worry, which is great.

The waist is intentionally a bit loose, but it can be cinched tightly, so I also like that they feel secure to wear.

 

I've selected the smallest size of all the items to fit myself, so I hope this serves as a reference for your size selection.

 

 

 

 

I bought the Sienna (brown).

We started carrying COLBO in the 25AW season, and thanks to COLBO, I, who used to wear mostly navy, gray, and black, started wearing more brown and cream clothes.

Initially, I had a bit of a dislike for earth-tone clothing. However, with COLBO's clothes, I somehow don't feel any resistance; instead, I want to incorporate them into my wardrobe.

 

The reason for this is something I've been increasingly realizing myself lately: they're easy to pair with the clothes I've already bought.

They have good compatibility with Japanese brands.

Specifically, as I mentioned in my previous blog post, many customers who come to see COLBO at our store already like brands like HERILL, Ernie Palo, and originally COMOLI or AURALEE.

I feel that those who have chosen high-quality, long-lasting clothes are now looking to "choose something new," "add a change," or "freshen things up a bit" and have discovered the quality of COLBO.

Just like me, because they've experienced good quality from Japanese brands (that I've introduced), they understand COLBO's quality and sophistication. What's more, COLBO offers many unprecedented garments, so I believe it particularly resonates with fashion enthusiasts.

 

 

 

When I actually wear these pants, I often keep my outfit this simple.

Since the pants are the main focus, a T-shirt or polo shirt alone is enough to create a complete style.

My style doesn't involve complicated layering or "adding" elements, so matching COLBO pieces simply like this is my ideal.

 

This year, I decided to invest in pants for the summer.

Every year, I struggle with monotonous summer styles, and since I'm not good at making big changes with tops, I focused on pants, which are the core of a style.

Until now, my full-length pants were mostly navy slacks or denim, but just adding these brown pants makes my usual style feel elevated.

 

 

 

 

Kubono had emphatically declared, "I'm buying the blue ones!" (laughs)

He's also been wearing them heavily for the past two months and seems to be enjoying styling them.

He casually pairs them with the shirts, extreme wear, and Satisfy T-shirts that we're particularly promoting this season. It's a casual and simple style, but in reality, he's choosing luxurious, high-quality items that can be cherished for a long time.

By completing his outfit with these pants, he's able to connect them to the items we've introduced before, creating a more special style, which was our intention.

 

Today, I've specifically focused on COLBO's pants, but I hope this gives more people a sense of what COLBO means to us and how we wear it.

 

 

Those who have read this far might be wondering why I'm writing this blog post now. Currently, on launch day, mostly those who are already interested in COLBO come to see it. It's only recently that it has become widely available in Japan, and I think many people are still unfamiliar with it.

That's precisely why I want people who don't know about COLBO to become interested in it, as it's a core brand for THIRD PLACE. And for those who are already fans, I want them to know it more deeply, which is why I wrote this blog post.
