Starting tomorrow, we will be unveiling a special knitwear item that we have made to order for MEIAS.

MEIAS is a unisex brand created by Japanese knitting engineers in 2018. Under the slogan "Scientific knitwear," the brand pursues timeless, comfortable products through meticulous material development and knitting techniques.

Looking at the Meias collection, there are a variety of items, from basic items made with good materials to items that make you think, "Can this be made with knit too?" It's fun to see the possibilities of knitting.

We will be selling our products at THIRD PLACE from the 26SS season, and thankfully, from the very first season onwards, we were approached with questions such as, "Is there anything you need at THIRD PLACE?"

At first, there were some parts that made me wonder, "I think THIRD PLACE has a clear style proposal, so we can basically create anything," he said, giving us powerful words and a proposal with plenty of room for improvement.

Even if you think of knitwear as something you associate with winter, it seems like over the past few years knitwear has been changing to something you can wear all year round.

The most representative item that sparked this way of thinking is probably the existence of the "wool T-shirt."

While sweaters are used to keep warm in the winter, merino wool T-shirts are perfect for spring, summer, and fall; they're a convenient item that keeps you cool when it's hot and warm when it's chilly.

There are more designs that can be worn alone, and they are also extremely versatile as innerwear. They stay dry and not sticky during the humid rainy season, and they have built-in odor resistance so you can spend the day without worrying about anything, even during the sweaty summer months.

What's more, with today's technology, you can easily wash it at home, it doesn't get wrinkled, and even if you take it out thinking you'll wear it next year, it will still be in the same condition, so once you've experienced that feeling, you'll find it hard to get over it.

If there's one thing that concerns me, it's the price. You can't get them for under 10,000 yen like a pack T-shirt, but for those who know how good they are, they can be used for a long time, so perhaps they're good value for money after all? It seems like more and more people are choosing knitwear for warmer seasons, feeling satisfied with them.

So, this time I asked Meias to Spring, Summer, Autumn" We asked them to create a crew neck knit that we would want to wear every day.

Personally, I love wearing silk the most as it warms up after the cold winter and into spring, so I asked them to use plenty of it in this piece so that I could fully enjoy that feeling.

While taking advantage of silk's greatest appeal - its luster and luxurious appearance - we made detailed requests regarding the width and tightness of the ribbing around the neck and the balance of the body width in order to make it fit in with our style.

Depending on the design and sizing, the sheen of the silk can stand out too much and end up looking erotic, so we asked them to keep it subtle and not overly overflowing.

I mentioned wool earlier, but silk and wool are Both are natural fibers derived from animals and have many things in common. One major feature is their excellent moisture absorption and breathability. Both materials also have temperature-regulating properties. Therefore, since they have the excellent functional aspects I mentioned at the beginning, I hope you will experience the benefits of silk, known as a "natural cooler," especially during times of extreme temperature fluctuations.

Now let me tell you why I chose silk instead of wool this time.

As silk is washed, its luster gradually fades and it takes on a nice dullness. I personally like this look, and for example, the silk neps shown here in the store are easy to understand. In reality, not all are exactly the same, so I think it's best to use them as a reference... but to give you an idea, the more you wash it, the more character it develops, so you can enjoy the unique charm of silk. This is a charm that wool doesn't have.

Generally, when you hear the word "silk," you think of "carefulness," but the silk I like is the opposite. That's why I made this special order knitwear so that it can be easily cared for at home, and that it can be used casually with high-quality materials and finished in a way that allows you to enjoy the feel of it.

Another reason is that recently, wool t-shirts have been released by a variety of brands, so it seems like it's not difficult to find a design that you like. However, silk knits often have binder necks or V-necks, which gives them a more elegant look, so it's hard to find the right balance, so I have them create that for me.

In 2025, we mainly proposed casual items that are characteristic of us, such as denim and sweatshirts, but in 2026, the keyword will be "chic."

I think this special order knitwear is an item that conveys that feeling perfectly, with a mature feel, so I would like to combine it with the casual items I have proposed so far. It comes in a single charcoal color that can easily be coordinated with the clothes you already own.

At first glance, it may seem plain at this time of year, but because it is made of silk, The colours are subdued but have character, and I aimed to create a knit that is durable and can be used, so I think you will like it.

I will now propose We imagine this piece as an inner layer for outerwear from overseas and domestic brands, or even worn alone with shorts during the hot season, so we think it will be appearing more frequently in our styling from now on. Therefore, we want to recommend it in various ways, and we decided to introduce it at this timing so that everyone can have this knitwear first!

If you want to wear it big, choose size L. If you want to wear it moderately loose, choose size M.
