Now, to help you enjoy Golden Week at THIRD PLACE, we've prepared three special projects.

From extreme cashmere, an Amsterdam-based brand, we're releasing the T-shirts we've been looking forward to tomorrow, April 29th (Showa Day).

 

Since this is the first time introducing it on the blog, I'll start with an explanation of the brand.

As you can tell from reading, it's a brand that offers only cashmere throughout the year. As the brand name suggests, their commitment to cashmere is "extreme," and it's truly amazing how they consistently propose and embody only what they genuinely believe to be good.

It's been over two years since I met the extreme team and started working with them, but I initially decided to select them because I love "cashmere."

"Sweatshirts," "denim," and "cashmere" are the major pillars of my style, and within that, my dedication to cashmere and careful selection led me to extreme cashmere.

The reasons I love cashmere are primarily that it "feels good" and "can be worn for a long time," but these qualities can also be said of other Japanese and international brands that use high-quality materials.

What makes extreme cashmere so incredible, however, is not just their "mastery" of a single material, but also their desire, as you can see from their Instagram, to create pieces that can be worn in "everyday life" by diverse people of various races, countries, and cultures globally. They are creating shared values through cashmere that appeal to everyone.

 

 

 

 

The photos I've been using are from my buying trip in Paris, and the exhibition venue in Paris is always wonderful, with the entire space, even the sofa covers and cushions, made of cashmere...

And since they have an exclusive chef, after our business meetings, we communicate over a course meal prepared by the brand.

Everything is so thoroughly thought out, so this time is always special.

And since there's a lot I can empathize with in what I aspire to, I wanted to offer extreme cashmere to everyone at THIRD PLACE as well.

 

 

 

 

 

And this time, we're introducing T-shirts.

Many of you might wonder, "Cashmere at this time of year?" but this series is made from a lightweight material that combines softness and breathability, with "30% cashmere, 70% cotton," making it a highly versatile item that can be worn well into the summer.

First, I want you to look at the neck area, where it says "tina," "cuba," "james," and "rik." These are model names. Many of extreme cashmere's items are sized based on the body types of the staff working at extreme, so the model names are simply their names. Or they are created based on the image of a place name.

Each one is a different size, but these are not size variations; they are product numbers.

As mentioned in the brand description, all items are one-size-fits-all, so this time at THIRD PLACE, we've gathered three colors in four models of the same fabric, chosen by the three of us to wear.

 

 

 

 

 

First, Miura has been wearing "tina" for about two years.

Tina has a cropped square fit, a compact sizing that is feminine. Despite its compact silhouette, the excellent elasticity unique to knitwear provides easy comfort.

Even adults who want to wear this size but lack confidence often tell us, "I can wear this one!" because the extreme atmosphere and texture make it look elegant. It's a model that has been loved by the brand for a long time.

Next, Kubono chose "cuba."

It's a slightly snug fit with a distinctive shorter length, which is surprisingly hard to find in men's compact sizes.

He usually prefers a masculine look rather than oversized clothing, so the balance it achieves as a standalone piece and how it looks when layered as an inner layer was the ideal balance he was looking for.

Especially for those in their 20s who were looking for this kind of vibe, as he often says, being able to choose this from extreme is amazing.

By the way, when a woman wears this Cuba, it fits a bit more loosely than Tina, so it's also recommended for women who like a more masculine style to choose this sizing.

 

 

And one of the models I recommend is "james."

This James is longer in length than the Cuba mentioned earlier.

It has an authentic balance and is perfect for those who prefer a slightly snug fit, or it can be a valuable inner layer for outerwear, so you'll want to have one.

And for men, this "rik" might be the long-awaited one, wouldn't you agree?

It's the most relaxed fit in the cotton-cashmere T-shirt series, introduced this season.

Those who are taller and previously struggled with the fit, or those who prefer oversized clothing, will find this a solution, I believe.

The iconic detail of the brand is the embroidery on the left sleeve. It's so cute.

This embroidery also has a proper meaning: it features the color variations developed for each collection.

Although there are many color variations this season, it was our first time introducing extreme cashmere for summer at THIRD PLACE, so we opted for three basic colors: "GREY," "RAVEN (black)," and the new color for this season, "ARMY (khaki)."

 

 

 

 

 

Our T-shirts have ranged from 100% cotton pack T-shirts to wool T-shirts.

I still love sturdy cotton T-shirts, and I also wear high-quality wool T-shirts.

Each has its merits, and we will continue to offer them, but extreme cashmere T-shirts have no luster like wool T-shirts and offer a natural feel and luxurious comfort like 100% cotton T-shirts, making them a unique T-shirt like no other.

Especially for those who have become accustomed to wool T-shirts and appreciate the quality of high-end T-shirts, I urge you to try this one. You'll truly feel the difference.

 

I recommend wearing extreme cashmere T-shirts as close to your skin as possible.

Because the material is so good, you can truly feel its quality that way.

 

We all tried on the shirts we each chose this season, but since all three of us love denim, we usually prefer grey T-shirts. However, we thought "ARMY" in its neutral khaki shade would be something we'd actually want to wear, even though we hadn't worn much khaki before! So, it looks like we're all going to buy one. Lol.

Also, personally, I used to dislike black. I know many people like it, so I don't want to speak too loudly, but it always felt too cool and didn't quite match my casual style. However, with this texture, it blends in easily with my vibe, and I've grown to love it, so it's become my black T-shirt debut.

Since we've decided on the clothes and content for this season, I definitely want you to try pairing them with the shirts, outerwear, and pants we're currently recommending.

 

 

 

Although I've talked a lot, the appeal of extreme cashmere doesn't end here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There's a large tag on the back of the neck, where care instructions are written.

Not just the T-shirts, but all extreme cashmere items are machine washable at home.

When you hear "cashmere," you probably wonder about the care instructions, but I think it's reassuring to have them clearly stated to this extent.

Since T-shirts are worn during sweaty seasons, you definitely want to wash them, and for those in their prime, many are busy, so handwashing can be a hassle. However, if you can wash good quality items regularly without worry, there's nothing but good to come from it, and that's why it's chosen by so many people.

In fact, I put my own items in a net and machine wash them normally (with detergent and fabric softener) (tumble drying is not allowed), and true to their price, they use strong threads, so they don't stretch out at all.

 

 

The only thing to note is that due to the nature of the fibers, there might be some pilling at first, but

 

 

 

 

 

The brand has also taken this into account, so when you purchase, you'll receive an original comb. You can use this comb to brush away and remove any pilling.

By the way, this comb also has deodorizing and moth-repelling effects, so when not in use, you can store it in the white bag provided, making it truly a win-win.

As an extreme user myself, I can attest that even with regular use, the condition doesn't deteriorate. While it's more expensive than a regular T-shirt, it's a garment that lasts and stays with you for a long time.
