I've always liked shirts, but I've been wearing them less often in recent years.
As I mentioned here before, I've mostly been wearing cut-and-sewn items like sweatshirts and wool T-shirts, and as I'm approaching my 30s, I've started thinking more about wearing collared shirts occasionally. So, I was looking for a shirt I wanted to wear this season.
That's when ANOTHER ASPECT caught my eye.
Looking at their Instagram, the item that naturally drew my attention was their shirts.
While having a proper classical atmosphere, I was intrigued by their casual approach that suited modern times.
When I actually went to see them and confirmed the actual items, that feeling turned into conviction, and the first one I chose was this Shirt 4.0.
When I asked about the shirts, they told me that each season they make them using deadstock fabrics they find and select in Europe.
When I asked for the reason, they said:
"We want to contribute to the circular economy by actively utilizing and repurposing surplus stock and excess fabrics that have been produced in large quantities, transforming them into our own garments. To minimize carbon emissions and environmental impact, we only use recycled fibers, deadstock fabrics, and organic materials. We are committed to creating timeless, high-quality designs that are loved for their individuality and quality, proposing to customers to 'buy less, buy better', focusing on classic and lasting styles that are not influenced by trends, while also emphasizing the importance of practical functionality.
I was impressed by their commitment to not just making clothes, but also considering what is necessary in today's society and creating items with strong convictions.And I understood that this shirt was one of the items that symbolized that.
I've been following their collections for about 5 seasons now, and since they continue with the same patterns each season, I feel the compelling nature of their work. At the same time, I look forward to encountering new fabrics and designs each time. This "once-in-a-lifetime encounter" feeling is exciting for me.
For me, who was looking for a shirt, there were so many "reasons to choose" and an "acceptable price," so I had no hesitation in carrying ANOTHER ASPECT.
Having been given this opportunity with ANOTHER ASPECT, THIRD PLACE was able to collaborate on the very shirt that started it all.
For this collaboration, we selected fabric from their collection of deadstock European fabrics, and they specially created our "4.0" model.
We chose a fabric with a color and texture that evokes the "chic" atmosphere unique to European brands, which is characteristic of ANOTHER ASPECT, and had it tailored to a balance that would suit Japan.By chance, the fabric found in Italy was a Japanese deadstock fabric from the past. We decided this was a fated connection.
Since this shirt also uses a fabric that is only available this time, we made it 100% cotton for durability and ease of use over a long period. I like shirts that can be easily washed at home and enjoyed unironed, so we chose it based on our standards.
The appeal of 4.0, which sets it apart from other shirts, isn't just its "fabric."
First, the design is distinctive, with fewer front buttons than a typical shirt. I really like the balanced spacing of the slightly larger five buttons. I was very drawn to their aesthetic sense, which adds subtle distinctive touches to everyday items.
The sizing is also distinctive; the 4.0 has a relaxed fit around the body while maintaining a slightly neat length, a balance that fits the Japanese physique well. I think the fit, which is neither too tight nor too oversized, unlike recent Japanese brands, is a great match.
You can choose a more compact size for a jacket style, or a looser fit if you prefer a more relaxed look, allowing you to select a style that suits you.
Normally, sizes S and M would allow you to directly experience the ANOTHER ASPECT brand, but this time, I specifically requested XL.
I had the XL size made to achieve the balance I wanted when wearing this shirt on its own.
Since I often wear shirts as a single piece, it was made with a balance that allows me to propose that specifically.
Also, I had never worn a dark-toned shirt before. It was partly because my style centered around denim, but this time, since I had the opportunity to create a shirt with ANOTHER ASPECT, I'm taking this chance to try a new "chicness" that suits me.
I've always wanted to wear muted colors, but styling "chic" items inherently requires a certain "coolness" (which is good in itself), so the key for me was how to neutralize that with my own vibe.
The answer was "sizing." By upsizing, I could create a relaxed feel, and I believed that having a sense of ease would make it look better, so opting for XL turned out to be the right decision.
Year by year, the significant seasonal changes in clothes and colors I wear are diminishing. In turn, I've become more particular about curating my wardrobe, focusing on new updates that allow me to continue enjoying my favorite items.
Even during the period when I was away from shirts, I still prioritized "easy-to-wear" clothing, so this shirt, which is both comfortable and stylish, is likely to become a valuable addition.
Especially this year, I plan to wear a lot of shorts, so this XL will probably get a lot of use.
By the way, this is what it looks like wearing XL at 175cm.
Even if you're tall and concerned about shoulder width, you can wear it in a well-balanced way.
I think it's a size that even people with broad shoulders can wear with confidence, so I recommend this balance for those who prefer a loose fit.
Also, I want women to wear Another's shirts. I'm 155cm tall and wearing size S, but the atmosphere created by deliberately wearing a shirt made for men represents the unisex style we want to propose at THIRD PLACE.
I think if you try opening the front buttons, adding accessories, and incorporating feminine accents based on a masculine style, you can wear it just right.

This proposal truly made me happy...
To commemorate the 1st anniversary of THIRD PLACE's opening in April 2026, the ANOTHER ASPECT team prepared this long-sleeved T-shirt especially for us.
It's a special edition with the brand logo on the left chest and a graphic of the THIRD PLACE store and its address printed on the back.
The body is original to the brand, in a lovely beige color with brown printing. Unlike rugged American bodies, the smooth European feel is elegant and comfortable.
It's a special item for us that connects Copenhagen and Nagoya.
Although it's an early release before our 1st anniversary, it will be a memorable item for this event and for us, so I hope everyone gets one!
In addition to this special order, all items from the 26SS ANOTHER ASPECT inline collection will be displayed starting tomorrow, with priority given to in-store customers. Daniel and Anas will also be in the store, so I hope you'll come and chat with them and discover the charm of ANOTHER ASPECT.

Actually, new collections for 26SS from COLBO, CAMIEL, SUNFLOWER, YOKE, ISSUETHINGS, and more will all be launched at once. For those who want to see everything thoroughly, or who primarily want to see ANOTHER's products, the early opening hours are recommended. For those who want to communicate with the ANOTHER team directly, they are expected to arrive around 3 PM, so visiting after 2 PM would be good timing.
