This is the collaboration with YOKE that we recently announced.

We have created a wool mid-length coat to match the winter style proposed by THIRD PLACE.

Based on the leather car coat offered by YOKE, we have created a very luxurious coat made of wool-cashmere melton fabric with river stitching.

This is a special menu only for THIRD PLACE, filled with our casual atmosphere, YOKE's sophisticated design, and the high technology of Japan-made craftsmanship.

There are various reasons why we decided to make this coat with YOKE, but first and foremost, it was simply because we wanted to wear a coat.

When we proposed the ISSUETHINGS slacks as an exclusive project, which are still fresh in our memories, we may have talked about the same thing, but we often ask brands to help us complete the style we want to embody first.

This is another one of those cases.

This project started from Nishiwaki's desire to propose a coat this year.

But honestly, I have had fewer opportunities to wear a coat in recent years.

Recently, I have become a regular down jacket person.

After entering my 30s, I got married and moved to the countryside, and with the COVID-19 pandemic on top of that, my lifestyle changed significantly.
At the same time, it was a major turning point in my fashion sense, and I feel like my way of choosing clothes has changed a lot.

Especially with outerwear, I have come to prioritize heat retention, ease of care, lightness, and ease of movement, and I think I have become distant from so-called stylish and high-quality coats.

Even though I am about to introduce coats, it is quite an unconvincing start, but as a premise, even I, who am not familiar with coats, wanted to wear one after a long time. And this was the one that I could add as one of the options in my wardrobe.

For people like me, I would definitely like to recommend a coat as outerwear this year.

From here, I will introduce the points I like along with the styling I wanted to do this year.

First, the deciding factor was the length.

As I mentioned earlier, in my current lifestyle, honestly, it is not compatible with a long coat.

I often go out by car on holidays, and for active days, a tough padded jacket is absolutely comfortable.
Since I commute by train, shorter is easier as much as possible.

If I always make excuses like that, only short outerwear will increase in my closet.

However, I am also firmly climbing the stairs of adulthood, so there are times when I want to dress up according to TPO.

For such a selfish me, this mid-length coat was the ideal form.

It is a length that is not too short or too long, just enough to cover the buttocks.

It is available in 2 sizes, 2 and 3. This time, there is no size 1.

The one I am wearing is size 2, and it was finished so that it is not too extremely oversized so that women can also wear it.

If it were a regular YOKE item, size 2 would feel a little big, but while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere, they finely adjusted the sleeve length and collar size (height) and other details to our liking, and made size 2 into a balance that both women and men can wear.

So, I think if you have a body type like mine, you should definitely choose size 2.

It is designed with drop shoulders in advance, and a rounded balloon silhouette with plenty of room in the width, so this oversized feel does not look bad at all.

Also, the other point, the inside of the sleeves is made with leather, making it a design that can be enjoyed by folding it up, and it is made to look beautiful even when rolled up casually.

Since the sleeve length tended to look bad or sloppy by becoming too long and dangling, you can enjoy a relaxed size even for petite people without worrying about that.

Also, it completely clears the weight problem unique to melton coats that I was worried about. It is very light and surprising.

As I mentioned at the beginning, this time they made it using the river stitching method.

River stitching is a very laborious and luxurious method filled with the skills of craftsmen, where the edges of the fabric separated into two pieces are woven inside, and it is finished by hand-sewing, so it is completed with direct human hands.

It is often used in kimonos and high-end tailoring, but by bringing it down to a casual coat this time, you can wear a luxurious atmosphere while being everyday.

Because a river coat is made by sewing two pieces of the same fabric together, it has no lining.

By doing so, it becomes lightweight and also increases heat retention.

I am sensitive to the cold, so I often wear several layers inside, but it realizes a non-stressful fit without any unpleasant stiffness.

However, just because it is a high-quality coat, I want to wear it naturally without trying too hard.

By all means, casually like the me of the past.

This year, starting with and wander's fleece, I also bought various items from outdoor brands.

I got it early and tried various things first, but it goes well with even casual outfits and tech items.

By the way, I also plan to fully enjoy this coat this year, but it is purely happy and fun to have new options for winter style.
