HERILL, THIRD PLACE.
Hello, this is Nishiwaki from THIRD PLACE.
It's been a while since my last blog post.
In my last blog I just said that 25aw is starting, but I didn't update anything...
But this was intentional.
First of all, I didn't want to give away too much information about what I'm going to do, but rather wanted everyone to actually see it here and feel it with their own eyes and skin. I've never introduced so many new brands before, so I made sure to introduce each one carefully.
As those of you who have already visited our store will know, THIRD PLACE only has two large racks.
We have a rule that most of the products we purchase cannot be put on display in the store.
That's why we change the items on display every week.
Each week we express what we want to show and communicate, and we aim to keep it fresh for everyone. We aim to be a place where people have high expectations when they come to our store.
Generally, the products are not arranged by brand, but are organized in the style that we want to propose as THIRD PLACE. However, when we want to fully convey the splendor of a brand's collection, we display an entire rack devoted to that brand, so while we have our own ideas of how to express it, it is of course important to communicate it from the perspective of the maker and the brand first.
I think it's a pretty selfish place... It's been about two months since we started AW, and we are so grateful to everyone who came to see this style in anticipation.
Currently, 70% of the products from each brand have arrived. It's about time I introduce them in my own words. The time has come when we have to convey this information (the amount of information is overwhelming), and I believe it is the buyer's responsibility to communicate it in words, so from now on I will be introducing it thoroughly on my blog.
First, I decided which items I would introduce on my blog.
Let's start with this item, which is where we started.

Many of you may already know the brand, but let me introduce it to you again, starting with HERILL.
HERILL is a Japanese brand that launched in 2019. Its products are primarily made from natural materials such as cashmere, silk, and denim, and their knitwear made from rare cashmere known as golden cashmere has been a signature item since the brand's inception.
Currently, the brand offers nearly 100 items and holds exhibitions overseas every season, steadily increasing its fan base not only in Japan but also overseas.
I have been fortunate enough to have had a relationship with the brand since its first season, and have been involved with and introduced Heril. Personally, I believe that the appeal of Heril has always been its commitment to creating " truly good things ."
When you look at Heril's clothes, many people will find them luxurious because they are made with high-quality materials, but the designs are characterized by a large number of basic items. You can see that they select good materials for items that feel familiar and are truly made to be "long-lasting."
For example, the classic cashmere knitwear is " easy to wash " and that's why we're particular about making it possible to wear it every day. Of course, it's the "ultimate" when it comes to everyday wear, but I think that our dedication to this has led to the trust of so many people today.
Since I started purchasing overseas, I have been able to rediscover the appeal of HERILL. HERILL's Japanese-made clothing, packed with the many wonderful techniques it employs, is like the finest "white rice," like the unique koshihikari rice grown in Uonuma, Niigata.
Now, let's talk about HERILL from THIRD PLACE, which we introduced at the opening.
The reason why I chose denim in the first place is because I love denim.
When we thought about what to introduce to everyone when we started this shop, we decided that we needed to first introduce ourselves in a way that was unique to us. I spend two-thirds of the year in denim, so remember that it will be a masterpiece here at THIRD PLACE.
I had a pair of jeans that I had never gotten my hands on before, so I consulted with HERILL designer Oshima and they made it into a reality: these jeans.

HERILL denim 4PK
COL: VINTAGE WORN
SIZE: 0 / 1 / 2 / 3
¥55,000
Although I have a lot of denim, I have never been able to get hold of "processed denim." I find it extremely difficult to find the perfect color and size that I'm looking for. (Recently, there has been a renewed vintage denim boom, and I understand the excitement surrounding it.)
Rigid (raw denim), one-wash denim is not as hard to find as processed denim. ( This is what I like.) Nowadays, many brands are developing great denim every year, and above all, Levi's, Lee, Edwin, we have a Wrangler.
Another hurdle is that processed denim is simply more expensive than regular raw denim. Vintage denim in good size and condition can easily cost hundreds of thousands to millions of yen, and new denim requires the skill of a craftsman to bring out the texture and color. Therefore, the price is generally about 1.5 to 2 times higher than one-wash denim (printed denim is cheaper).
The reason I asked HERILL to do it was because I saw that they had been making denim since the brand's inception, and I especially liked the texture of their denim. This was the easiest way to imagine the style I would be adapting to.
However, Oshima herself usually wears slightly slim tapered or very wide silhouettes, and those were the silhouettes she chose for the brand's lineup, but I took a bold step and requested a medium-thick silhouette that looks straight and is in between slim and wide, which is my favorite.
The main points that led to the creation of this silhouette were the deep crotch that ensures a good range of motion, making it easy to ride a bicycle, and the roomy thigh area (thigh width) that hides any worrisome leg lines that may arise depending on body type or age.
The waist is intentionally made a little larger, so many people will need a belt, but if you tighten it tightly with a belt, it creates a beautiful line and roominess. What's more, the key point is that even when tightened tightly, it still fits nicely around the waist.
Another thing that I personally consider important when it comes to jeans is the hem width. My size for these jeans is "2," and the hem width for size 2 is 23cm, which means that I can wear them with both sneakers and leather shoes.
For example, slim tapered jeans tend to be limited to Converse or loafers, but these jeans can be perfectly paired with anything from high-tech sneakers to authentic leather shoes. Check out the styling later.

On the left is the 11 oz fabric that was released in the first series, suitable for midsummer, and on the right is the 13 oz fabric that is proposed in the second series, suitable for the cold season. Each fabric is different, and the color was also adjusted to match the season. The 11 oz fabric had a light feel, but the 13 oz fabric was made a little darker, so it matches the texture of the cold season perfectly. I took the photo with my phone in natural light, so I think this is the closest to the color that you will see with your eyes.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but I really like this 13 oz. bag, which has a deep color that can only be achieved with a thick fabric. I think it's something you won't find very often.
The hem and other small details, as well as the selvedge and abrasion, are all excellent, so I hope you'll take a closer look.

As I mentioned earlier The key point is that it can be paired with any sneakers or leather shoes, and the reason why this is important to me is because it allows for a wide range of styles.
We love both down jackets and coats, sweatshirts and knitwear, and shirts and T-shirts, and enjoy everything across genres, so we need denim that lets you enjoy both synthetic and natural materials, as proposed by THIRD PLACE.
After all, pants are the center of gravity, and I believe that the range of styles that can be coordinated will depend on the pants, so I paid particular attention to that point.
At THIRD PLACE, we value "neutrality" that is not bound by any particular framework, so we have incorporated that element into this denim.
And for those who regularly use HERILL products, the products go well together, so we hope you will combine them with your favorite items and buy more.
Also, check out the styling and recommendations of other members.

"Football is in my life. I've been kicking a ball since I was little, and I still wear a uniform as part of my everyday wear. And I always watch games on the weekends during the season.
Seeing these jeans brought back memories for me, as my father often wore these colors, tucking in an Oxford shirt or a pale pink polo shirt, pairing them with a casual Adidas nylon jacket, a Barcelona cap, and Le Coq Sportif shoes. Looking back, I don't think much of my father's denim style at the time, but now I think it's really cool.
However, when I think about wearing them myself, the jeans feel too tapered and slim.
I don't often wear pants with a leg opening less than 20cm or a rise less than 30cm. The slimmest jeans I wear are about the same as a 505 Levi's. These jeans have the color and size balance I've always wanted but never found, and I'm finally happy to have found them. They're an exquisite pair of pants, somewhere between a salty and a soy-sauce-like face.
I like styling that doesn't directly incorporate genres like classic or street, but has a relaxed feel with a bit of a sense of incongruity. This time too, I had fun styling that reflected important aspects of my lifestyle, such as wearing a uniform, sunglasses, and a knit cap underneath.
I'm 167cm tall and have a slim waist, so I wear both sizes 1 and 2. If you want a snug fit, I recommend size 1, and if you want a more relaxed fit, I recommend size 2. I chose size 2 because I wanted to pair it with a SUNFLOWER knit, which has a simple yet straight pattern.
I hope as many people as possible will get their hands on these new denim pieces, and that they will use these items as an opportunity to pair them with the global brands at THIRD PLACE.

"I wear denim all year round. I especially love washed denim, and although I probably already own more than 10 pairs of pale blue denim, it's one of those items that I never get tired of buying. I've been a fan of HERILL denim for a long time, and it's a very reassuring staple in my wardrobe.
The one-pleat denim that I had made this time has a relaxed volume overall and is designed with a wide hem, so it goes well with a wide variety of items.
It's versatile and can be worn with sweatshirts, another of my favorite items, as well as tailored jackets and MA-1 jackets that I've been wanting to wear this season, and even down jackets in the dead of winter. Another great thing about it is that it can be paired with any shoes.
I usually wear both leather shoes and sneakers, but I wear sneakers much more often, and recently I've been wearing high-tech brands like ROA, ASICS, and SALOMON. Personally, I think the biggest problem with vintage denim is the feet, and due to factors like the silhouette and length, it's difficult to match these sneakers in a stylish and well-balanced way.
Because we like simple styles, we think that choosing the right shoes is very important, and we paid attention to even the smallest details, so we hope you will try them out and put together various styles.
The size 0 that I am wearing now is a special size that we asked our store to design so that even petite people can wear it.
I'm petite, standing at 155cm tall, and the length was perfectly balanced so I could wear them without any alterations. I'd love for many women to try these jeans, so if you're having trouble finding the right size, I encourage you to give them a try.

As both of them mentioned, I'd like to talk about size.
We are all petite, and I think many of us have a realistic sense of size.
By the way, I am 168cm tall.
This time we have four sizes available: 0, 1, 2, and 3.
Size 0 is for petite women, and size 1 is for tall women and petite men.
Size 2 is for people with a body type like mine, or closer to 175cm. The length is also slightly longer than the previous model, so I think this size will suit a wider range of people.
Size 3 is designed to look great even for tall people, even those over 180cm tall.
As I mentioned when explaining the denim, the waist is intentionally made large, so even if you don't normally like wearing belts, I hope you will enjoy the silhouette that can only be achieved by tightening the waist with these jeans.
Also, if you normally buy HERILL, you can choose this in your usual brand size without any problems.
This denim collection will showcase the items we've collected from overseas and Japan, and as I've been saying all this time, I think we'll be able to convey our unique, original style. We hope you'll use this denim collection as a base, pairing it with the items we've received so far, and experience the style (flavor) that only THIRD PLACE can offer.
Although this denim is special, it is also our everyday wear, which is why we were particular about using only the best quality denim.
Starting tomorrow, for the next three days, we will be prioritizing our store.
Online sales will begin at 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 19th at the THIRD PLACE online store.
Please note that sizes that are sold out in stores or out of stock will not be available for sale.
Well, this is my first blog post in a while and my first product introduction, so I was really excited.
Thank you to everyone who has read this far.
Imagine how my usual Instagram captions (text) sum up everything. Lol
I actually want to write a lot more. However, I want to write about these things properly on my blog, so I would be happy if you continue to check them out.
So, I look forward to working with you from tomorrow!
