Today I'd like to talk about the Japanese outdoor brand and wander.

Many of you may already know, but let me start by explaining what And Wonder is.

and wander was founded in 2011 by Keita Ikeuchi and Mihoko Mori, who were both active designers at ISSEY MIYAKE.

The brand was born from the two men's strong desire to make fashion for nature and the mountains as enjoyable as everyday fashion. They aim to provide sophisticated items that combine the functionality and practicality of outdoor wear with high fashion that stimulates the consumer's sensibilities.

At the time, it was quite an impactful experience for me to hear that the two of them, who were originally from the world of high fashion (conversely, many people may not know this now), started an outdoor brand.

In the early 2010s, a different kind of "cool" fashion was the norm, so looking back, I feel like they were a pioneer of the current values ​​and sensibilities of the times. Every year, they update their functionality and materials, and the quality continues to improve, which I think is amazing that they are supported by a wide range of people, from serious outdoor enthusiasts to fashion lovers.

Now, more than 10 years after the brand was launched, its appeal has spread overseas and it is steadily becoming a global presence. When I go to Paris Fashion Week, I really feel the passion there, and at the same time, I feel very proud when I see a Japanese brand taking root locally.

It's been over 10 years since I first discovered and Wander's clothing and started introducing them to the public. My love for them has not changed, or rather, it has grown with each passing year. I am extremely happy to now be able to introduce them here at THIRD PLACE.

"and wander," which will be introduced at THIRD PLACE, will offer "functional items that make your daily life more comfortable" and "new styles created by the international and domestic brands that gather at THIRD PLACE."

We have prepared a variety of items for the first season, but we will start with this series, which is the one we have been using for the longest time.

And Wander's "Shell" series.

Shells are a staple item for outdoor brands, and many of them become iconic items for the brand. I've tried a lot of different brands, but the one I wear the most is And Wando's shells.

First of all, the shell This outerwear is designed to protect the body from rain and wind, and its high waterproof and windproof properties make it a very reliable presence in bad weather.

These specs are considered to be an advantage for all brands, but from the perspective of fashion lovers, we think And Wander's designs are very acceptable.

Whether you're wearing it on a sunny day or around town, it feels natural and comfortable. I think people are drawn to the level of perfection that can only be achieved by making it with fashion in mind from the start.

And what I would like to recommend today is coats.

I've been using jacket-style hats until now, but since I've gotten used to shell hats, I thought I'd try something a little new.

I have experienced the benefits of shells with shell jackets, so I thought that coats have their own unique benefits that are different from jackets, and as many of my customers incorporate shells into their style, I wanted to recommend this to everyone, so I selected it.

While it has plenty of shell functionality, it doesn't feel like a typical raincoat, and the width and armholes are roomy. I think the jacket is very comfortable to wear.

In cold weather, the length of the coat helps keep the wind out, and if I accidentally sit down on wet ground from snow or rain, I won't have to worry about my pants getting wet. I thought about the things I usually do (lol).

There is a large pocket on the front and a pocket inside the coat, so it has a large capacity and you don't need a bag.

What's more, the flap pockets and waterproof zippers are details that only a shell can have. They don't get wet, they don't fall out, and they're secure, so it's nice to have these features in your everyday life.

The sleeves have Velcro so you can adjust the length to fit your body type, and they function as intended to keep out the wind, which is especially helpful for cyclists.

My favorite shell item is the hood.

It covers your head securely and can be secured with a spindle, so you can wear it without being affected by the wind. I don't even need an umbrella. I travel a lot, so this hood has been a great help to me.

When you get home, you can just wipe off any wet areas, so it's easy to handle. By the way, the brand logo is reflective. It improves visibility at night .

And perhaps its greatest strength is its high layering capabilities, which are unique to outdoor brands.

When hiking in the mountains, you start from the ground and head towards the summit, so the environment and temperature change constantly depending on the altitude. When outdoors, it's important to dress and detach your clothes according to the situation and think about your innerwear combinations in advance.

I think these aspects can easily be used in fashion as well; the coat itself is very lightweight, has windproof properties, and can be worn during cold seasons by adding thermal items underneath.

As I mentioned at the beginning, this coat has a loose fit in the body and arms. I was able to wear anything from loose knitwear to jackets underneath my outerwear. It can be worn over a suit jacket, so I think it can be used both on and off the job.

In these uncertain weather conditions, it's very helpful to be able to adjust your clothing to suit the temperature.

Also, since it's made of nylon, you don't have to worry about the seasonal feel of the material, so a great point is that you can use it for three seasons (autumn, winter, spring) just by adjusting the inner layer.

I wore a crew neck knit from SUNFLOWER with my denim and Weston Yacht shoes for the first time in a while. This is what I would wear at this time of year.

It's mid-length so it doesn't look too over the top, making it perfect for a basic style.

The other color, khaki, was prepared to go with the beige, khaki, and brown items selected this season.

I tried wearing this comfortable yak sweater and these pants , which have been well-received in the store, with items that are a little more fashionable and made from high-quality materials, and I really like the look I got.

The dark tone base will remain the same, but I would like to actively incorporate a more natural atmosphere like this.

This year's cold weather style is perfect for when the snow starts falling around late December.

This season's most recommended hat is a combination of a knit cap and a scarf, and I've worn a bouclé zip-up knit from YOKE underneath. The pants are the fleece-lined pants I introduced the other day, and the shoes are the ROA boots I bought this year. I'm looking forward to enjoying winter by packing a variety of outfits into a single tone.

I tried on all three styles and found that they were highly breathable, so I was able to move around without getting sweaty even when wearing them heavily. As I wore them, both the khaki and the black ones started to look better and better, and I was having trouble deciding which one to choose.

By the way, I am 168cm tall and wear size M. There is also a larger size, L, so there are two sizes available.
